Many Missouri motorists sometimes get involved in confrontations while navigating state roadways. In these so-called “road rage” incidents, tempers flare and violence could even erupt. A 19-year-old man has been accused of shooting another man during an act of road rage.
The 53-year-old man who was shot died due to his injuries. The incident occurred on a recent Wednesday. The following day, police posted a picture of the younger man on Facebook that they had reportedly obtained from surveillance cameras at a motel in Sweet Springs.
The suspect was taken into custody without resistance
Investigators posted a photo of the suspect on social media, encouraging anyone who might encounter him to dial 911 or call *55 on their cellphone. Police later contacted the suspect at the Sweet Springs motel and an arrest was made. Due process will now take place, and the man accused of fatally shooting the other man will have a chance to defend himself in court.
Strong criminal defense support may help mitigate circumstances
Missouri prosecutors must have enough evidence to demonstrate that a person charged with criminal activity is, beyond a reasonable doubt, guilty of the crimes charged. An experienced criminal defense attorney can focus on helping a client get a fair trial and obtain an optimal result. In the event of a conviction, the lawyer will seek the most lenient sentence possible for the circumstances presented.
