At approximately 9:30 p.m. on a recent Monday, a motor vehicle accident occurred at an intersection on Missouri Highway 61. Two vehicles were involved, one of which was pulling a trailer. Thankfully, while several people suffered moderate injuries in the recent accident, none of them were fatal.
The collision occurred when a left-turning vehicle collided with the trailer of a northbound vehicle. Accidents like this often involve driver negligence. Similar cases in the past were caused by drivers failing to stop at red lights or stop signs. If a turning vehicle has a green light but a vehicle moving on the straightaway fails to obey a red light, disaster may occur. Collisions also often occur when someone turning left fails to yield the right-of-way to vehicles passing through an intersection.
Occupants in the vehicle with trailer suffered injuries
Two individuals in the vehicle that was hauling a trailer were transported to a nearby hospital following the collision. One was a 65-year-old man who was behind the wheel when the trailer was hit. A juvenile passenger also suffered injuries. Their vehicle was totaled.
The vehicle that was executing a left-hand turn when the crash occurred was operated by a 92-year-old man. He did not suffer any injuries. Anyone who has recently been involved in a motor vehicle accident in Missouri may find themselves in need of guidance regarding how to file a personal injury claim. Such guidance can be obtained by meeting with an experienced injury law attorney.
